Reading development - resources and organisations

The emphasis here is on reading for pleasure - many of these links are also on the main books page. Please let me know of any links which will help us to promote this fundamental role for school librarians.

The first link has proved very useful to many librarians when putting the case for "reading for pleasure" to school senior management teams. There is also a large section on Information Literacy:

The School Library and the Key Stage 3 National Strategy
http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/keystage3/respub/en_library
The material produced to support a training day for school librarians. Makes very useful reading, packed with supportive comments. But would it not have been better to target this at senior managers and teachers so that they became more aware of how to use their library/LRC? Surely, school librarians already knew most of this!
